Free Scam-Checking Tool “OziShield” to Help Everyday People Stay Safe Online
Sydney, Australia — 4 December 2025
With online scams rising rapidly across Australia, a newly launched free tool is helping everyday users quickly check whether a suspicious link, SMS or email might be fraudulent.
OziShield, created by Indian-Australian developer Simmi Ahuja, allows anyone — including seniors and non-technical users — to paste a link or message and instantly receive a scam-risk analysis. The tool is designed to be simple, fast, and accessible to users who often struggle to identify online threats.
Ahuja, who moved to Australia in early 2024, built the tool after seeing many people within migrant communities fall victim to online fraud.
“I wanted something even my parents could use,” she says. “A tool that explains things clearly and helps people avoid losing money to fake messages.”
The tool has already received early encouragement from public figures.
This week, Dr. Shashi Tharoor — author, former diplomat and Member of Parliament — publicly acknowledged OziShield, noting its usefulness in helping people stay safe online.
OziShield is part of Ahuja’s broader initiative, Ozinexus Technologies, a young digital-safety and SEO tools startup operating from Western Sydney. The company is also building WordPress plugins and small SaaS utilities aimed at helping small businesses and creators.
Key features of OziShield include:
-
Instant scam-risk analysis
-
URL & message safety checks
-
AI-assisted detection of suspicious patterns
-
No login required
-
Completely free
Ahuja hopes the tool will serve as a first step before users click unknown links or respond to unusual messages.
“If this tool can save even one person from a scam, the effort is worth it,” she says.
OziShield is now live and free to use at:
